Three Years Later...

Hello fellow book worms!DEER GOD it's been awhile. I sincerely apologize for how absent I've been. If you've followed me on YouTube you'll have at least still seen my occasional Chronicle videos. Up until the latest bout of technical difficulties, I managed to post slightly regularly. However, I seem to have been cursed with bad laptops and broken printers (printers not having a thing to do with this) and all-around things trying to prevent me from posting to my channels. A large change in lifestyle has also played a part in this, but the technical crap is the main issue here. I still have a great camera to film with. It currently has a broken viewfinder (my fault for buying a refurbished camera and not a brand new one...but it was a gift...so I suppose that's not my fault...and I'm ridiculously grateful for it) and the focus doesn't seem to work anymore either. But it works well enough to film on, so it's not the issue either.

My MacBook is broken. I did an update on it and it slowed the computer down so much that I had to troubleshoot it and have them help me reinstall the old software -which we did. However, despite having backed it up per the instructions I was given, it no longer has the programs I used on it: Pages and iMovie being the main ones. It also now no longer works without being plugged into the charger. Fed up, I decided to leave it be for awhile and try to pursue other options to edit and post videos. Today I picked it back up and will be bringing it in to the Apple store on Sunday to try to have them figure things out for me.

My beautiful iMac, my lovely piece of machinery, took a shit. The hard drive died. Before I can replace the hard drive, I need to have them do a scientific removal of all my data (whatever the hell that means) to make sure I don't lose anything. Then, I have to shell out close to $250 in order to replace the hard drive. I have no idea where I'm going to get the money to do that, but I'll have to figure it out somehow.

Currently, I am using a Windows computer (I love Windows, don't get me wrong, but Apple is just better for the things I use computers for) that I got for free from a friend of my mother's. He is a wonderful human being, just let me say that. This computer has gotten me through the past couple semesters at University and have made it possible for me to do anything remotely computer-related. However, it isn't very powerful, the battery only works for about 30 minutes before it needs to be plugged in, and it doesn't have any power or ability to run editing programs or games or basically anything at all. It also has no memory space (nothing more than storing some pictures and documents). I also made the mistake of upgrading to Windows 10. Never again. It serves it's basic purposes, but is no good for a film student. Therefore, I have no way of editing videos for YouTube.

The other change has to do with my living situation. I am currently in a lovely relationship with a boy I love more than anything. We have been together for two years and moved in together back in July of 2015. With us came his two daughters from a previous marriage. He has 50% custody of the girls, therefore they live with us half of the time. We came to the agreement that, in order for me to continue going to school and for him to work a job full-time in order to earn money for our family, I would take care of the girls during the day. So while the girls are with us, I focus on them, leaving me no time to film. I suppose it also doesn't help that this computer doesn't have a webcam, so even if I wanted to film Chronicle videos on it, I couldn't. I am loving learning how to be a step-parent, despite the challenges. Currently, I film occasionally on my phone, even filmed a vlog video of my wrist surgery (which one day I swear I will actually post it) and try to pretend that the footage is actually going to be uploaded one day.

I'm working on a solution. It's going to take a while, but I'll get there. In the meantime, I'm thinking I might try to do written reviews and blog posts. So stay tuned for those I suppose! We'll see if I manage to get anywhere with this. Thanks to those of you who stuck by me through this entire ordeal!

Also, I have tried to make this font bigger, but for some reason it doesn't want to let me. No matter what I've done. Unless I retype the entire thing, which I'm not in the mood to do. So I'm going to leave it how it is and you guys will have to suffer through it with me. Ugh. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, LET ME TELL YA!

Rant Time

Hello my lords and ladies! How goes it? Well? Fantabulous.

Technical difficulties are still here, which means there is going to continue to be a delay in me posting my first official video. It makes me majorly upset because I want so badly for my blog to have a permanent posting schedule. Yet. Here I am. With nothing. Because life hates me.

Rather than post an update video, I'd rather just type some shit out so I can clear my head with y'all and so everyone can have a little update on stuffage.

So. First order of business. IT IS HOT AS BALLS HERE. I am sweating like a pig and there is literally nothing that I can do about it. Air conditioning is on and all, but guys...it's like...over 100F (which is over 35C). I'm dying. I would love to go to the pool and cool myself off. However, this isn't an option for me because of two reasons. The first being that my piercings are still healing and I am not supposed to submerge them in any water yet. Especially nasty peed-in pool water. Second being that I am getting my tattoo touched up tomorrow (Sunday) and I won't be able to swim for a month after that. Actually, longer, because on the 14th of July I'll be getting another tattoo. So boo.

Next, I'd like to elaborate on my upcoming tattoo and some slight issues that people seem to be having with it. The tattoo is combining my love for cinematography/photography/filming and a quote from 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. It's going to be on my right lower arm/wrist and I'm seriously looking forward to it. I won't know exactly what it's going to look like until I go to get it because I pretty much have come to the point where I leave the details up to my tattoo artist. Because he's incredibly talented and hasn't let me down yet. And he's hot. So. Reasons. BUT. People seem to be having issues with me getting another tattoo so soon after my last one as well as the placement of the tattoo. Guys. I don't care. I love tattoos. I've waited and waited to be able to afford getting tattoos when I want them and I intend on getting as many as I want, whenever I want, wherever I want. I will continue to get tattoos until I either have no space for more on my body, or I get tired of getting them. Until that time comes, I will be getting tattoos. They make me happy.

The reason I'm doing something from 'To Kill a Mockingbird' is because ever since I reread it, it has been one of my absolute top favourite books ever. The first time I read it was in 2010 when I went to Mallorca with my best friend. Now, it's become one of those books that I carry around with me just in case I have a moment to read something. Doesn't matter if I'm already reading something else. Nope. Just have to carry it around with me. I relate so much to Scout that it's ridiculous. RIDICULOUS. That book has become the twin to 'The Gargoyle' for me, in the sense that it is now my security blanket. HURRAY. I adore both of those books. YAY.

People should just start calling me Scout. Because I'm basically her. My childhood was basically hers (minus the lawyer father and the almost getting killed and living in the South and whatnot) and I relate to her probably way more than I should. Reading her story is like reading part of my own brain, just written by someone else. It's insane. I don't even know how to describe it. But I love her. She is my hero. And I should just call myself Scout from now on. So. Yeah. FOR ALL Y'ALL OUT THERE...MY NAME IS SCOUT. NICE TO MEET YOU.

Wow. This is way to long. I apologise. I'm leaving now. BYE! :D

Bone Farm

So I finished 'Boneshaker' last night. I cannot tell you how excited I am that there are more books in this story and that it isn't quite finished yet! I'm definitely going to have to restrain myself and try to avoid running over to B&N to buy them all at once. I don't have the money for that right now, given all the other books I've bought lately, haha.

I also started 'The Farm' today and finished it about an hour ago. I didn't think I would like it very much at all because it has vampires in it, but holy crap...It was so much better than I thought it would be. Also, the weight of the book was perfect, as well as the bendiness/paperback-iness of it, so it made me happy to be holding it...which was also why I couldn't put it down...Help.

I've been trying to read as many books as I can before going back to class (tomorrow) since I know I'm going to be struggling to read books for awhile from tomorrow on. I can happily say that I've read quite a few books in the past two weeks and each one of them has been excellent (I suppose with one exception) and has satisfied by hunger for stories. I've got three more that I'm really, really, excited to read and can't wait to pick up. My next will probably be 'For the Win' since I'm craving some more techno-jargon and such.

Alright. I have to go to sleep. I'm getting up at five in the morning tomorrow. Kill me please.
