Three Years Later...

Hello fellow book worms!DEER GOD it's been awhile. I sincerely apologize for how absent I've been. If you've followed me on YouTube you'll have at least still seen my occasional Chronicle videos. Up until the latest bout of technical difficulties, I managed to post slightly regularly. However, I seem to have been cursed with bad laptops and broken printers (printers not having a thing to do with this) and all-around things trying to prevent me from posting to my channels. A large change in lifestyle has also played a part in this, but the technical crap is the main issue here. I still have a great camera to film with. It currently has a broken viewfinder (my fault for buying a refurbished camera and not a brand new one...but it was a gift...so I suppose that's not my fault...and I'm ridiculously grateful for it) and the focus doesn't seem to work anymore either. But it works well enough to film on, so it's not the issue either.

My MacBook is broken. I did an update on it and it slowed the computer down so much that I had to troubleshoot it and have them help me reinstall the old software -which we did. However, despite having backed it up per the instructions I was given, it no longer has the programs I used on it: Pages and iMovie being the main ones. It also now no longer works without being plugged into the charger. Fed up, I decided to leave it be for awhile and try to pursue other options to edit and post videos. Today I picked it back up and will be bringing it in to the Apple store on Sunday to try to have them figure things out for me.

My beautiful iMac, my lovely piece of machinery, took a shit. The hard drive died. Before I can replace the hard drive, I need to have them do a scientific removal of all my data (whatever the hell that means) to make sure I don't lose anything. Then, I have to shell out close to $250 in order to replace the hard drive. I have no idea where I'm going to get the money to do that, but I'll have to figure it out somehow.

Currently, I am using a Windows computer (I love Windows, don't get me wrong, but Apple is just better for the things I use computers for) that I got for free from a friend of my mother's. He is a wonderful human being, just let me say that. This computer has gotten me through the past couple semesters at University and have made it possible for me to do anything remotely computer-related. However, it isn't very powerful, the battery only works for about 30 minutes before it needs to be plugged in, and it doesn't have any power or ability to run editing programs or games or basically anything at all. It also has no memory space (nothing more than storing some pictures and documents). I also made the mistake of upgrading to Windows 10. Never again. It serves it's basic purposes, but is no good for a film student. Therefore, I have no way of editing videos for YouTube.

The other change has to do with my living situation. I am currently in a lovely relationship with a boy I love more than anything. We have been together for two years and moved in together back in July of 2015. With us came his two daughters from a previous marriage. He has 50% custody of the girls, therefore they live with us half of the time. We came to the agreement that, in order for me to continue going to school and for him to work a job full-time in order to earn money for our family, I would take care of the girls during the day. So while the girls are with us, I focus on them, leaving me no time to film. I suppose it also doesn't help that this computer doesn't have a webcam, so even if I wanted to film Chronicle videos on it, I couldn't. I am loving learning how to be a step-parent, despite the challenges. Currently, I film occasionally on my phone, even filmed a vlog video of my wrist surgery (which one day I swear I will actually post it) and try to pretend that the footage is actually going to be uploaded one day.

I'm working on a solution. It's going to take a while, but I'll get there. In the meantime, I'm thinking I might try to do written reviews and blog posts. So stay tuned for those I suppose! We'll see if I manage to get anywhere with this. Thanks to those of you who stuck by me through this entire ordeal!

Also, I have tried to make this font bigger, but for some reason it doesn't want to let me. No matter what I've done. Unless I retype the entire thing, which I'm not in the mood to do. So I'm going to leave it how it is and you guys will have to suffer through it with me. Ugh. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, LET ME TELL YA!
